Today’s Gazette ad for a lost cockatiel reminded me of the municipal animal shelter in Long Beach, CA. They have a large outdoor aviary where “found” birds go. I used to think the birds might actually enjoy their new home, what with all their new fellow birdy friends. It was (is?) quite an aviary. Kind of like “new” Australia, or something!

I confess, I haven’t been to Shipton’s for awhile. They’ve moved their pet food to the back wall, and added a ton of pet supplies: Kongs, chewies, toys, lots more food to choose from, beds!
I was just thinking we need a Petco, so Pet Smart has some competition. Maybe not.
